Dave Tang passed away this morning. I knew him through my friends from Grip Video, and he was a great guy. In real life, he stood literally a foot and a half taller than me and he was Chinese. I could go on about how incredibly fucking unfair it is for someone to die of cancer when you're in your early 30's, but I won't. He knew his time was short, and he made the most of it. He's no longer suffering, and for that I am glad. Instead, I'd like to remember him the way he probably would like to...

Turbo polishing

The last few weeks, I've been polishing The Dave's engine pieces with a bench buffer we bought. I thought I'd post a few pictures. The pieces are shinier in real life. Some of the black smudges you see in the pictures are oil, fingerprints or patches of rouge I haven't wiped off yet. Since I'll keep getting the engine dirty as I assemble it, I'll do a final cleaning later when engine is permanently in the car. It's already been in and out twice for various reasons....
